Veteran’s Day 2023

Howdie Folks!  Its that time of year again. The time to remind you of Eric again. Today is Veteran’s Day, 11.11.2023. Unfortunately, nine years ago, 11.11.2014, Eric left us to be with the Lord.  Its amazing how fast time flies and how so many things have happened in our lives but what hasn’t happened is forgetting Eric.

I remember when I first met him. I can still see that day. He made me laugh right way. While standing at the copier he said from behind me as he approached me, “who are you”? I slightly turned and replied, ‘Valarie Thompson, who are you”? He said, “Eric, Walahandra, Akem, Dumar, (and 2 other names I can’t remember) Yancy Powell”,  I chuckled and said, “your parents gave all those name”? He laughed and said, “no, but I’ll tell you about them one day”.  Unfortunately, he never told me.  We’d meet new people and without fail, he would recite his long name and we’d all laugh including Eric.  I think his gift to all of us was to makes us feel good, make us laugh, and to experience his kindness and genuineness.

Eric’s “Spirit” is always showing up for me by giving me “signs”, all the time when his “Spirit” is around me.  Its truly amazing! I will continue to honor him twice a year on this website.  I thank you for honoring him with your visits here, your views and responses.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.  See you in 2024!

Without further ado, here are smiles from Eric!
